Title: You Will Be My Destruction
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: #2, hauntings
Words: 250 words
Summary: Joren was never the same after Kel came to Corus.
He was content, even happy, until he saw her face.
Part of him was horrified. He fought for as long as he could, masking the growing desire with hatred. He found ways to make her life a misery. He trained harder, to forget this unholy need within him.
And still, he could not stop.
All he wanted was for her to raise her eyes and to want him. She would be his destruction, this love, this growing fascination and obsession would be his destruction.
Her eyes were for Queenscove, and he hated it. He wanted her love for him, and he would drive her out if that was the only way. The Mithrans spoke of lust and love, and he didn’t know which was which any longer- only that at night, he dreamed of their bodies writhing together, and he woke up on fire with desire awakened, unanswered.
There was no salvation for this madness that had taken him over, nothing, no purity of a knight’s purpose. There was nothing but a desire that would forever haunt him, and if his pride would bend, he would beg her.
She would be his destruction. She was slowly killing him. And he would curse her and hate her to the day they died.
He walked into the Chamber, on a night as warm as sin. Here would be the accounting, he knew, as he sank into the midnight sea of darkness that awaited him.
There would be no return.
Inside, she awaited.
A/N: I blame Notre Dame de Paris. I’ve been delving a lot into that fandom lately, and yes, obviously, I’ve loved Frollo xD
Some of the words are borrowed from the musical and synthesized. And good lord, you have to watch Daniel Lavoie’s Frollo. Is absolutely awesome!
And oh yes. When Joren says Kel’s eyes are only for Neal, he is referring to Kel’s early crush on Neal, and well, he’s irrationally jealously possessive too.
